New Artists

We now have two more artists here at E.W.A. Angela and Hridesh. Both are talented young photographers, and have a nice selection available on their pages. Angela is a Chicago native, currently in San Francisco, and Hridesh's origins are in Nepal. Heres a couple of pictures from them, but head on over to the website and check em out.

Were still looking forward to a great summer. With the hopes that we can keep people interested in the happenings of their local music scene, seeing people out enjoying themselves this summer is the goal. The Alley is hosting our second show on May 3rd, featuring Big Sneak. Bruces Red Rocket still has a tentative slot available, so well see if they can make it out.

Once again, hope to see some of you out for the show on May 3rd. To the rest of you, keep on a rockin'.

Peace,
Rob

New Artist

E.W.A. has clinched the Rock Band 'Bruces Red Rocket' for promotion on the website. I got a chance to see them again with Big Sneak and Rootless Trees at The Alley this past weekend. It was a fun show, with a good turnout, and debauchery to be had by all.

Bruce has a show this weekend at the Double Door, and all of you should get out there and see them. In the mean time, mosey over to their page and check them out. They may also be joining Mike, Rob, and Big Sneak on the bill for Sat. May 3rd at The Alley again.

We may also be available to host an Open Mic hosted by E.W.A. and The Alley. Right now it appears to be set for Monday Nights, and more than likely an acoustic set. The only way we would broaden out to electric is if their isa strong enough turn out. We will keep you posted on the development of this, and let you all know when the starting date will be. 'Till then, mark all of your Calanders for May 3rd, and we can all sit down and have a great time.

Recent Updates

The growth is staying at a steady pace right now for E.W.A. A good friend of ours, Paddy Teglia, is now featured in our 'Artists Section'. Paddy has been a long time supporter of E.W.A., pretty much since the beginning, and has showed us a great deal of support. The Fearless Leader of Flatlander's Open Mic, Paddy has a great deal of skill, and tact. We can't wait to hear what you think.

I finally got around to updating Aya's page, and rotated out two of her poems for some more recent work. Her 'Dialogue in a Mental Hospital' is a great perspective on a very profound situation. 'Vibrant Lessons' is another great snapshot into the mind of this beautiful person. Check her out, and let us know what you think.

As I keep working on modifying the site, and trying as hard as I can to escape the limiting templates of Office Live, I will be looking for a way to add somment boxes into the pages to recieve as much feedback as possible. This website should act like the community we all want it to be. Besides, I am still learning, so bear with me.

Finally, I added some new merchandise to the store too. Hats, sweatshirts, mousepads, pins. All the good stuff(Even some ladies underwear ;-D). The tracks posted were also lowered from .99 to .50, so take advantage of the reduction.

As always, thanks to you all for your support, and keep checking us out.

New Artists

Please go ahead, and take your time to view the new artist featured by E.W.A. Farah Ahed agreed to be a part of this prject, and I couldn't be more excited to have her on board. Another great addition to our happy family.

Keep an eye on Aya as well, her work will change out to bring people a better idea of her artistsic personality.

Big Sneak and Rootless Trees both have some gigs coming up, to kick off the new season. If you are in the area, we'll be sure to let you know when they hit. Rootless Trees just released a few new tracks for everyones listening pleasure. Check out their profile on ReverbNation.com, or keep an eye here. Hopefully we can get our hands on them sooner then later.

New Season

E.W.A. has been going through a time of some restructuring, and a few minor changes on the site. We have been toyng with some new artists, and working on getting some fresh updated work from them. The summer months are just around the corner, and the musical heart is starting to beat once again.

With a few new tracks coming, and some great shows on the horizon, now is the time to start laying the foundation for what should be a great summer, as well as a great portrayal of new, different art. Ideally coming from all angles.

Big Sneak has been teaming up with fellow Rock group Bruce's Red Rocket, and the well developing Rootless Trees. They will be having some joint shows coming up in April, and tentatively May. The Alley in Highwood is being quite open to our Artists, and Monday Nights at Flatlanders are always a great time to see some new tricks.

Hope to see you all out and enjoying the scene this year.

Drawing a Future

So, we tried playing in the city and it didn't quite pan out, so here we are, back at the same old spot, only this time, the gounds are different. We have a acquired a few new artists, with a couple more to come, and a new. direction, yet again. As you may well know, E Washington Ave's focus has been, up till now, Music. Well, we have decided to broaden our focus, and shoot a bt further than that one miniscule dimension of the artistic world. Why focus on one, when there are so many beautiful things happening out there.

So, this brings us to our new goals. We are hoping to help get these artists some exposure, just like before, and get some heads turning in their direction, so these hard working people get what they deserve. Stick around for a bit, and watch it all grow!

Amazing Grace

It still astounds me just how fast tings can flip on you in this world. The dominoe effect set in place from a major effect can ripple into every corner of the lake known as your life, and bring about a tumultous journey for rest and assurance.

Alas, such will not be for those of us (a.k.a. myself) here at E.W.A. for some time, as major changes and construction shakes th foundation of what this whole organization was built upon. So, for know, all I can say, is take a large step back, let out a deep sigh of relief, and wait for us to find you. Because when we do, you will know it is time to start back on this path of discovery in the world of creative expression, and towards that bright light that could, innevitably, be a fly zapper.
